Brooks Crossing Innovation & Opportunity Center (BCIOC), in partnership with The Hampton Roads Workforce Council has launched the Waves of Opportunity campaign to boost recruitment for training and employment in maritime careers. Our first open-to-the-public recruitment event was a success, thanks to the hard work of Dawn Settles, HRWC Outreach Recruitment, Anthony Claiborne, HRWC Outreach Recruiting Specialist, and Jackie Rondeau, Employer Engagement Director, HRWC.

We were thrilled to have Lisa Taylor, Talent Acquisition & Employee Experience Specialist from the NN Department of Human Resources, present to recruit for City of Newport News positions. The event was also attended by Crystal Awkward, NN Human Services, and Aaron Richards, Veteran Employment Representative. The lower right-hand corner features Jackie Rondeau and her team, who worked tirelessly to make the event a success.

It was an amazing event where partners worked together to pivot those in maritime careers and training. Join us in our mission to connect individuals with meaningful careers in the maritime industry.
