Navigating Wealth Building Program just completed Cohort 23 at Brooks Crossing Innovation + Opportunity Center. 11 participants were celebrated by the Navigating Wealth Building team, the City of Newport News, Newport News Public Schools, our supportive Partners and a host of family and friends. They have gone on to great full time positions and vocational trainings. Some of the trainings will be in the medical field, while others will complete HVAC and CDL licensing. This cohort, we witnessed a participant go from being on TANF to now working for the City of Portsmouth full time with benefits. We had the honor of our speaker being Daniel Carrera, the director of Youthbuild. He gave words of encouragement to the participants as they have now completed 6 weeks of the job readiness program. We are now looking forward to the start of Cohort 24 on February 20, 2024.
